CHINA 1878-1949 SCOTT/MA/CHAN CATALOG CORRELATION INCLUDING JAPANESE OCCUPATION OF CHINA, SHANGHAI-TREATY PORTS, AND MANCHUKUO by Ralph Weil with Michael Rogers. 2006, second edition, Softbound. At last, a China catalogue number correlation which helps every collector who uses Scott, Ma or Chan catalogues. Its three sections offer a Scott/Ma/Chan correlation; a Chan/Scott/Ma correlation; and a Ma/Scott/Chan Correlation. While the sequences which Scott, Ma, and Chan follow in organizing their material are logical, each uses different criteria. Thus, matching Scott, Ma, and Chan numbers can be most time-consuming. Our catalogue correlation is effort-free and most helpful; we use it every time we work on China!

In the past, several of the early volumes have become almost impossible to obtain, and these have been reproduced by J. M. Williams in 8½"x11" format containing all the text and illustrations of the original including the advertising. Hundreds of articles on China, Formosa, Tibet, Mongolia, foreign P.O.s, Treaty Ports, Macao, and more. THE LOCAL OVERPRINTED STAMPS OF MANCHURIA 1945-47 (M.L.O.s) by Allan D. Kerr (1976), 4 Vol., Softbound, 188pp (2000 Reprint) A new printing of the original 1975-7 work in four volumes with correction inserts. This is the original and most comprehensive listing of these stamps available. Includes alternative names, locations on maps, and a list of known covers. Includes a picture index in volume IV which makes identification of the overprints by local issue easy.

Volume I: Locations 1-79 (A Cheng to Hui Nan), 35 pages.

Volume II: Locations 82-172 (I An to Pu Si), 44 pages.

Volume III: Locations 173-268 (Sao Chan Ho to Yu Li Chen), 56 pages.

Volume IV: Unidentified Locations, stampless covers, map and index of place names, plus easy to use identification guide for identifying the stamps found in all four volumes, 52 pages. Note: there have been many attempts to correct this work, mostly with regard to place names and the characters used for such places. Most of these efforts are mistaken!
